Crossing borders, overcoming boundaries: European Implementation Event 2021

By Anne Etzelmüller, Hello Better by GET.ON

Present and discuss knowledge and ideas on how to virtually cross borders by implementing science and practice, thereby changing boundaries. This is the aim of the European Implementation Event 2021 that brings together individuals and organisations engaged in synthesising, translating, embracing, and implementing evidence in human service practice and policy.

Implementation as a significant part of the H-WORK project

Implementation describes the translation, uptake and integration of research findings within the daily routines of human services. Implementation draws on multiple disciplines and perspectives including sociology, psychology, organisational theory, social and political science. Each of them gives voice to both providers, and their clients, patients, students and others who are the end-users of services.

The H-WORK project aims to implement and evaluate multi-level interventions to effectively promote mental health, along with policy recommendations for employers, occupational health professionals and policymakers.

Although a large body of evidence emphasises the positive effects of several intervention strategies on work-related stress management, the actual implementation of these initiatives within work contexts is still limited. Learning from other implementation initiatives in Europe can enhance the successful integration of mental health interventions in local care settings. Integrating the latest findings from the implementation science perspective can foster the overall success of implementing multi-level interventions.
